So with the craziness of last minute school shopping, I forgot to post my project for Monday.  So, here it is...

 

I love daisies - whether they are real, paper, silk, or even stamped.  For this card, I stamped the daisy image onto white cardstock and then cut out each flower.  This way I can curl each petal to give them some dimension and add a button for the center.  For the leaves, I stamped the daisy onto green cardstock and cut out just the petals.  I added some foam tape under the white mat for even more pop.

Boxer Supplies used: Small red dot paper, yellow grosgrain, Daisy stamp, black  pen (Sakura), yellow buttons

Additional supplies: White, blue, and dark green cardstock, blue ink pad, black ink pad.

Cuddle Bug 8x8 page

I love black and white photos.  They just seem timeless.  Then the options to use any color combinations of papers and embellishments is limitless. 
I used the Fold Back Swirls template to create the flowers and the Swirly Doodles template for the stems.  The Girls Titles transparency is perfect as overlays on the photo.

Boxer Products used: Princess paisley, Green Gingham,  Bright Pink dot, Bright green dot, Bright Pink Gingham, Princess stripe papers, bright pink grosgrain, jade and bubblegum mini brads, Girl Titles transparency, glue dots, and HOTP Fold Back Swirls template

Work party invitation

These tool embellishments are Brad Buddies.  Metal embellishments with wonderful detail and simply attach to your project with brads.  Using a sanding block over the top of the Brad Buddies will highlight the details.  For this library book pocket, I covered the pocket with red cardstock and then attached the Brad Buddies to the pocket using glue dots.  This way the brads didn't go through the pocket.  Using a scrap piece of the new striped paper across the top of the library book card with mini brads, I then added the info for the work party to the library card.

Baby Charm cards

These three cards were super quick and easy to make. I simply typed the words Congrats on a card stock, printed it out on a piece of white cardstock and embelished with a little strip of Boxer Green, Pink and baby blue polks dot paper. I added a beautiful little baby charm for a simple, yet elegant baby card.

Stamp Challenge - Love card

I always love a challenge and stamps are definitely a challenge for me.  I love to see what people can do with them.  But I think I see the black image on the packaging and then the image of my project is that black stamped image. 

So for being stamp challenged, I absolutely love the Sentimental Singles stamps.  For this card, I used the Hugs and Kisses and Love Postage stamp.  Across the front of the card, I repeated the Hugs and Kisses.  Looking through the clear stamp and block, they line up perfectly to cover across the card.  Then with the Love stamp, I stamped one image, cut out the heart and traced it onto red cardstock.  Inked the edges of the heart and added penwork and glued over the other heart on my second image.  Adding the stardust pen around the edges of the black stamped image cleans up the edges of my image and adds some sparkle.  After inking the edges of the trimmed stamped image, I added the red mat.  For the rest of the card, I used the striped paper and black cardstock and trimmed them to like pieces of an envelope.  Add the ribbon, some penwork and added foam tape under the Love for dimension.

Feeling a little less challenged now and really like how easy this card was to make.  Now the hard part is to decide who to send it to.

Stamp challenge

We were challenged this week to use Stamps for our designer challenge and whenever I hear "stamp challenge" I think greeting cards! There are many products I love from Boxer, and the sentiment stamps are my joint first place (tied with Dog papers!). Personally I am a HUGE card maker and I'd rather make cards than layouts anyday so stamp challenge on I decided to break out the sentiment stamps and get busy!

 

Boxer Products: Black & White stripe paper; Lavendar 3/8" Rick Rack; Purple button mix; Birthday Dots Stamp;

 

 

I like that I used the stamp in a way that shows it's more versatile than it's alloted circular shape. The slide mount I used is old stock of Boxer so yu may have some in your supplies. Dig those out and just place them over a stamped sentiment, add some paper and ribbon and VOILA! WQick and Easy greeting card Done!

Quick and Easy cards

 

Hi Everyone, hope you are all having a great weekend so far! Today I thought I'd share a couple of cards I rececntly made. Not only are these cards cute, they are thrifty too. All I used was my computer and a few scraps of patterned paper that I had leftover from another project. One of my biggest money saving tips for crafting is: USE EVERY LAST BIT when you can! These strips of paper are about 1 1/4" wide.

How-to:

• print off a sentiment onto letter size sheet of cardstock
• cut the sheet in half, fold each peice in half for a card base
• Trim paper to approx 1 1/4" and ink edges
• adhere paper to card as shown
• ink ALL card edges
• Add any embellishments

On the card above I added a little rhinestone bling but could instead have added small buttons or brads. Inking the papers and whole card unifies the design of the card.

The card below shows a similar design but instead of taking the patterned paper to the edges of the card, it instead stops short, with more white space.

I think these cards show that you don't need a LOT of products to make great cards! These two were made with simple white cardstock and scraps of paper that other people would probably throw away. Instead save those scraps and make some quick and easy cards.

Gift card holder embellishing with Glaze pens

I think one of my favorite Boxer products are the tall library pockets.  They are perfect for folding in half and using as gift card holders.  Adding  a flower to the front can be for any occasion - just because, let's meet for coffee, happy birthday, thinking of you, miss you.... 

So I got to playing with the Glaze pens.  I traced some flowers and leaves and colored them with colored pencils.  I added a little glitter by outlining them with the Stardust pen.  I used the Translucent Glaze pen and went over the leaves and red and yellow flowers twice. The Glaze pen curled the petals of the flowers and gave them a glossy effect.  Then I traced the larger flower and outlined it heavily with the blue Glaze pen and took a water pen and pulled the glaze over the petals.  It made the cool watercolor effect across the flower.  Then I outlined it again with the Stardust pen and edged one more time with the blue for a strong outline.  When the pens were dry, I cut out the flowers and stacked them with foam squares and added a red crystal to the center of the small flower.

Supplies: Yellow gingham paper, Small red dot paper, Bright green grosrain ribbon, Tall library pocket, Glaze pens (Translucent and Royal Blue), Stardust pen, Water pen, Foam squares, red crystals, glue dots

Get Well Card

This Ladybugs & Daisies paper is just so cheery that they seemed a natural to use on a get well card. This card features a peekaboo window so you can see the Yellow Gingham border I used along the bottom edge on the inside. I cut an oval slightly larger than the "Feel Better Soon" Sentimental Single stamp image in the front of the card, then adhered a strip of Small Red Dot Paper so that I could adhere the sentiment over the opening. When stamping the sentiment, I stamped only the sentiment in black, then masked over it and stamped the rest of the image in red.

Princess layout - new papers!

I am loving the new pink papers from Boxer!!! I especially love how they coordinate with some of the older papers in the Boxer store, for example the new crown paper, and new pink polka dot paper go great with the existing pink gingham paper! So cool that Boxer do this!!!

Also on this page are the new Boxer princess stamp set and new luggage tags! Loving those luggage tags!!! To finish off the page I used Boxer brads, ribbon and stickers.

Up, up, & ... AWAY

I love hybrid projects, paring digital with traditional. The green and red papers were printed along with the photo's as a whole sheet. I simply cut them out of the letter size sheet and adhered them to the Boxer paper!

You're in our thoughts

I like to have a variety of cards on hand and one such card is a 'thoughtful' card that could be used for various occasions. This could be use for just a simple "thinking of you" card or a "with sympathy" card. The monochromatic color schemes gives a very calming feel to the card :)

Happy Birthday

Spring is definitely blooming and the Butterfly garden line has to be one of my favorites to use this time of year! The colors just scream spring! My all time favorite Boxer papers are the dot papers, love dots! Second has to be the ginghams! Just perfect for ANY occasion!

On this card I used a die cut for the leaves, and cut out the small flowers from the cardstock stickers. The card was published in the February/March issue of Ready, Set, Create!

Strength & Discipline

This week I thought I'd share some projects with the Boxer Martial Arts stamps. These limited edition sets are just great for cards or mini albums, along with layouts and other projects! Plus their price doesn't break the bank either!!! I love how each set is themed yet can be used in so many ways. This first card I used the plaid paper from the Holiday line! I like how in this instance it almost looks like oriental shutters/screens. Matches the stamps great!

For this card I went with the dots! I know I know, I always use dots, but I love them so much! lol! They just go great with anything! Stamped a section along the red cardstock and added stamped greeting and focal image. The dragon really is a cool design!

Just married

This week I thought I'd make some wedding cards, the Boxer wedding limited edition stamp set is perfect for all those wedding cards and bridal party invites! I like using the smaller stamps in a set for making my own patterned paper, and the little champagne bottle in this set is perfect for accent pieces!

Supplies: Small black dot paper; Wedding stamp set; Gray Grosgrain ribbon;

Of course if you're making one card, might as well make two :) So I whipped up another using this set! Nice quick and easy one, with a little simple stamping.

Transparencies and metal tags

This vibrant card doesn't take a lot of time or a lot of product.  Woo hoo!  All you need is a Jumo metal tag, a Thank You transparency and a little Ric Rac, plus a few water-soluble markers and cardstock.  One transparency sheet will make more than a dozen of these cards.  A yard of ric-rac will cover six cards if you run it vertically or eight cards if you run it horizontally (nine if your cutting is absolutely perfect - mine's not always!).  And the 10-pack of multi-sized tags is a great value.

For the technique, all you have to do is scribble water-soluble markers in several colors onto a scrap piece of plastic.  I used a plastic grocery bag laid flat on a table.  After scribbling the plastic, spritz with a little water to make the inks wetter and get them to mix together a bit.  Then, press your tag into the mushy wet ink.  Do the same for white cardstock and you have a bright and cheery card that's unique every time and is super-fast and easy.
